Karma Creative is opening new doors…
Karma Creative has great news! We’ve closed our Lawrence Avenue studio so that we can open a bigger better studio in 2012. You can still find us, teaching and working at Studio 162 at Wychwood Barns. Come in for painting, drawing, fibre arts and more. Or contact us to make appointments for encaustic and resin at our private studio.
Keep watching for updated calendars and news of the new studio. We are looking forward to the future with our Karma Creative friends at a bigger space where large scale work can be tackled. In the new space we will offer all forms of media such as:
Artist in 2 and 3 dimensional work programs:
• Specialized resin training for artists
• Specialized encaustic training for artists
•Specialized mixed media training in such combinations as encaustic and resin
Of course we will continue to offer the other media you’re used to, such as:
•Painting in all forms – watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media
•Drawing, sketching, life drawing
• Fibre arts
Visit now to make art together!
Falling for Resin
Spices, found objects, wire, photographs: Mixed media artists, Donna Blanco, and Alana, spent a busy weekend experimenting with resin. We spent a day on resin basics, and a day of trying everything but the kitchen sink.
Clockwise from top left: weird wire, careful measuring, “water & syrup,” freeing the ducks (no wood support) “Wow! You put that in the resin?”
Join us for basics, evenings in October, or sign up for a full workshop. See the calendar, or contact us to book times that meet your needs.
Summer in the City
We’re keeping cool in the studio, making art this summer. We’ve been working one on one, with mother-daughter pairs, with three generations of women, with groups of friends, and with our member artists to make every workshop meet individual needs. We’ve got a spot for you, too.
Here’s Suzy, who used her time in the studio to re-visit her trips to Cape Cod. This is what she has to say:
“My experience at Karma Creative was awesome! I was looking for a creative and artful way to work with my photography and that’s exactly what I got. Through individualized instruction and a custom series of workshops in encaustic painting and resin techniques, Karen and Maggie helped me see beyond my normal photographic eye, integrate colour and interesting materials and make my photographs come to life in whole new ways. I’m looking at my photography in a whole new light and can’t wait to create with these techniques again soon! “
